The latest technologies have provided us with incredible ways to greatly improve the quality of your care, the outcomes of your procedures, and your overall oral health. At HomeTown Dental, Fort Worth (Sycamore), we employ the use of the latest dental technologies to give you the care you need and deserve.

CBCT Scanning

CBCT scanning is a cone beam computed tomography technology. This type of scanning technology uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam that rotates a full 360 degrees around your head to capture a 3-dimensional image of the structures in your mouth, including soft tissues, bone, teeth, sinus cavities, nasal passageways, joints, and nerves. The process for getting the scan is quick and completely painless. It takes less than 60 seconds to take a full image, which is then displayed just a short time later in 3D on a computer monitor. The machine works by capturing a series of images as it rotates around your head. It takes anywhere between 150 and 600 images. As soon as the scan is complete, the technology pieces the images together to create a singular 3-dimensional image.

The technology used to capture images with CBCT scanning is similar to digital X-ray technology. The images produced are closer to those produced by a traditional CT scan. CBCT scanning, however, exposes you to less radiation than traditional CT scanning technology. Once the scan is complete, we can then use specialized software to manipulate your image in some different ways. We can rotate it, zoom in on it, and enhance it. These features allow us to provide accurate diagnoses and more accurate treatment plans.

X-Guide Navigation

X-guide navigation is a revolutionary system designed by Nobel Biocare, the leaders in dental implants and dental implant technology. This incredible technology allows us to provide you with better implants by optimizing implant placement. Not only does Nobel X-guide help us to plan optimal implant placement, but it also provides us with interactive turn by turn directions for guided surgery. We can plan the proper placement of the implants as well as the best angle and depth of the posts. We are also able to see the placement of virtual teeth, which allows us to provide you with the best possible aesthetic results.

X-guide navigation works with CBCT scanning, allowing us to provide you with the best possible care while also increasing the success of your dental implants. It is essentially a GPS for the placement of your new teeth. We can plan for every factor in your implant placement and visualize every step of the process before we make any incisions or drill any holes. The guide we create is completely interactive, providing greater precision than with freehand implant placement. X-guide navigation can even allow for same day dental implants. With this incredible technology, we can greatly improve patient satisfaction during the implant process, providing you with the best possible outcomes in the most comfortable manner possible.

Thanks to the latest dental technologies, we can help you maintain optimal oral health and your beautiful smile. For more information on our technology, and what it can do for you, call HomeTown Dental, Fort Worth (Sycamore) today at (682) 204-5717.
